Education - Quality Inspector / Tech Preparation

This refresher course provides participants with thorough knowledge of the various aspects of quality for the inspector and the technician. The course is strongly recommended as a primer for the participant who has elected to sit for either the ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Quality Technician (CQT) Examination.

Who Should Attend?:

This class will prepare the entry to mid level employees for quality responsibilities – whether in the quality department or not. All machinists and technicians interested in pursuit of knowledge in the quality sciences will benefit from this class. Some experience in the use of quality concepts, basic mathematics, and statistical knowledge will be helpful to the student.

Education and/or Experience:

CQI -- Need 2 years experience in quality inspection or related field.
CQT -- Need 4 years of higher education and/or work experience in one more of BOK.
If you have completed a degree from a college, part of the 4 years may be waived:

  • Diploma from a technical or trade school – one year
  • Associates degree – two years
  • Bachelors degree – three years

Instructor: Teresa Whitacre

Teresa Whitacre has over 15 years experience in the quality profession in a variety of industries, including plastic injection molding, medical device, glass, and chemical/allied products. Mrs. Whitacre, as a Quality Supervisor, has implemented quality programs in accordance with ISO/QS 9000 and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices. Mrs. Whitacre holds an ASQ , CQA, CQE, CQM/OE, CSSGB and CQT, B.S. in Quality Engineering, and A.A. in Liberal Arts. Mrs. Whitacre has instructed several courses in SPC, Mathematics, Problem Solving, Internal Auditing, and ISO/QS system standards, as well as the ASQ CMI and CQT. Mrs. Whitacre is a Senior member of ASQ, and a principal of Marketech Systems.
