Plant Quality Manager

Job description (Tasks/Responsibilities):

Attend required NPD project meetings. Kick-off, Review meetings, 90 day project audit meeting.) Assist PDE’s with analysis of Mold Qualification data, Process Validation data, and Manufacturing Process data. Complete gauge R&R studies and maintain gauge certifications. Investigate in-line & off-line new measurement technologies. Compile and Distribute Monthly Quality Reports for Key Customers. Analyze Plant Complaint & Production data monthly. Develop & Implement project selection process based on impact to quality metrics and cost-out. Lead (or support) Key Plant Quality Improvement Projects. Support QA Focus Team Projects. Maintain and audit all quality related systems. Take a leadership role in all plant customer and root cause investigations. Take a leadership role in all Customer, Corporate and Third party audits such as GMP, Pest Control and Procedure. Insure that all Quality policy and procedure manuals are current, followed, effective and the affected personnel have been trained. Provide direction to all lab and shift Quality personnel. Review quality data daily and insure reaction to any non-conformance. Work directly with plant management staff to insure open communication and support to all plant initiatives. Train QC personnel on their duties, train plant personnel on quality tools and techniques as required. Achieve performance objectives. Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews of all direct reports. Initiate appropriate corrective actions to effectively deal with trends, customer complaints, and operational shortfalls. Continuously improve QC operations by: Simplifying work, eliminating waste and costs, increasing process cycle times and effectiveness, continuously seek to improve other operations by: applying quality tools and techniques, identifying root cause of performance shortfalls, identifying technology that will increase throughput and effectiveness, identifying opportunities to eliminate waste and reduce costs, constantly advocating the use of quality principles, tools and techniques. All others as determined by Director of Quality and Plant Manager.

Skill Requirements:

Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills. Strong Statistical Knowledge.(Descriptive, Process Capability, Graphical, etc…). Proven Project Management Skills. Adequate computer skills (excel, word, etc.) SPC software experience a plus, i.e., Minitab, QI Macros, WIN SPC. Demonstrated ability to Lead Teams. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Plastics industry experience a major plus. Technical degree a major plus. CQM; CQA Certification a major plus.
