Job description (Tasks/Responsibilities):
Instill a zero defect mindset to achieve product quality
that meets or exceeds customer requirements. Drive continuous improvement at suppliers by managing
defined quality initiatives. Apply data driven analysis and systematic problem-solving
methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving
quality issues. Team cross-functionally to ensure DFMA (Design for
Manufacture & Assembly), DFx (Test, Service, etc). Ensure timely disposition of non-conforming material,
Quality Notifications, Supplier Corrective Action Requests and/or CAPAs. Team with global sourcing commodity managers and
purchasing engineers (i.e., provide input for supplier selection activities
including supplier evaluation and onsite supplier audits). Evaluate ECNs. Utilize risk-based approach in establishing and executing
material qualification plans. Perform Quality System and Process Audits of current
suppliers including reporting, follow-up and closure of nonconformance. Partner with Product Engineering, Process Control / Mfg
Engineering, and Manufacturing Quality Assurance. Ensure timely disposition of field returns. Update supplier quality metrics, take appropriate action
to adverse quality trends. Maintain knowledge of current technologies and future
trends.
Skill Requirements:
B.S. in a technical field of study, or equivalent; BSME,
BSIE preferred. Knowledge of statistical methods and use of statistical
software package (MINITAB, SAS, etc) with 5 or more years experience in
supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering is desired. A successful candidate will have knowledge of process
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, SPC, Capability
Studies, DOE, Gage R&R, DFx.
