On behalf of the ASQ Pittsburgh Section Leadership Committee, it is our pleasure to invite you to present your paper at our First Annual Healthcare Conference at the University of Pittsburgh Oakland Campus on Friday, April 30, 2010. According to a recent report by Thomson Reuters, the U.S. healthcare system wastes between $505 billion and $800 billion each year. Hence, there is the need for professionals to be concerned, and work to wring out waste. Participate in this Conference to learn and share the tools and techniques to improve.
We would like to develop a tradition of providing a forum in Pittsburgh for experts to present and discuss the latest developments in the use of quality tools such as Lean Six Sigma to improve the cost and operational efficiency in the Healthcare Industry. We are interested in papers highlighting case studies and success stories.
Conference Time-Line: Critical Dates – Authors’ Deadlines
February 15, 2010: Abstract of Proposed Papers and Speaker Biography from authors (500-1000 words) received by the Conference Committee
March 15, 2010: Notification to Authors of Acceptance or Rejection from Conference Committee Program Chair
April 15, 2010: Authors to Submit their Paper Presentation(s) via e-mail for inclusion in the Conference. This is a firm deadline – processing of late papers will not be possible.
April 23, 2010: Deadline for $125 Early Bird Reservations; Regular Registration is $199; Discounts: $25 for ASQ Memebers, 10% for 5 or more registrations from the same organization; Scholarships Available.
April 30, 2010: Conference: 8:00am-5:00pm
